Robert Reynoso comes from a long line of amazing Chefs who have been feeding central Arizona authentic Globe/Miami style Mexican food for generations. His grandmother, Salustia Reynoso, started the first of the Reynoso restaurants in Globe when she moved there from Texas.
While Robert grew up in California, his family moved to Globe, AZ in 1981 and by 1984, his parents Antonio and Roberta Reynoso opened the Casa Reynoso location in Tempe. The restaurant is still in the original location and one of the best places in the state to enjoy authentic old style Mexican food. It is one of 17 restaurants around the state that come from the Reynoso family and the recipes of Robert’s grandmother and mother are still some of their best kept secrets. One taste and you will know why!
In 2001, Robert set out to share the recipes his grandmother and mother taught him and opened Casa Reynoso in Chandler on Kyrene and Ray. After years of success, the building he was in needed repairs but the landlord was not interested in investing in the property. Robert knew owning his own building was critical and decided his days of leasing were over. With the Food Truck industry booming, going mobile until he found the perfect location was the way to go! In 2015, Casa Rey’s Food Truck was born and has been delivering the best Mexican food around ever since.
While Robert’s passion comes to life in the kitchen, it also shines when he is roping. For 25 years, team roping has been a huge part of his life and competing on a national level is something he is doing anytime he is not on the Food Truck or spending time with his beautiful family. As is the Reynoso tradition, his wife and 4 children are usually in the Food Truck working with him or playing nearby.
Casa Rey’s Food Truck offers the favorites of Casa Reynoso including the Rey Rey Burrito, the best Cheese Crisps you’ve ever had and the famous Gallo Burro from his parents restaurant but can bring out just about anything on his original menu for private parties and events! Cooking the old school way is a family tradition that won’t ever be changed to speed things up or help costs. The Reynoso family prides themselves on fresh ingredients and scratch made food. Even their refried beans have a secret family recipe – nobody can make them like Nana! Find the food truck asap and taste old style Mexican food unlike anything you’ve ever tasted!
