HELPFUL PEOPLE REFERRED BY TRUCKERS

Need to Know: Working in Multiple Counties

With the new law in place, you are able to have a permit in your “home county” (the county your business is based in) and get permits in other counties with fewer requirements.  The process is still unique to each county but the plan review, inspections, and additional commissary are not necessary in additional counties most of the time.  The process can also be done without driving to the office in most cases.  Basically, you have to register with the additional county and prove you are licensed in another AZ county but you don’t have to go through redundant steps each time.  The new law made working in multiple counties easier but does not eliminate the need to apply with each county office prior to working there.

Have a Maricopa license (or any AZ county) and want to work in Pinal county?

You do need to still apply for a Pinal license…but it is a super easy process.

  • Fill out the application. (Find it here.)
  • You need a copy of your license from Maricopa county and commissary agreement from your commissary in Maricopa county.  Pinal county commissary is no longer required.
  • Total cost is the $29 permit fee.
  • Takes about a week to process.
  • Sticker will be mailed to you or you can make an appointment to pick it up (without the food truck).
  • You no longer have to go to the Pinal county office at all during the process.
  • Here is the easiest way to get your permit:  Email the application and documents to Gayle (gayle.rhoades@pinalcountyaz.gov).  She will email you a payment link when it’s processed and then mail the permit as soon as you submit payment!  Call her directly at 520-866-4447 for help.
